Welcome happy people,
I am more than happy and very excited to finally open this blog. I've wanted to start it for a few month now but didn't know exactly how to. One thing is for sure, I have hundreds of posts in my head that I would love to share with you…
Let me explain my philosophy and tell you more…
I consider myself to be what you could call a "baby entrepreneur", meaning that I have just starting to learn and to take action towards changing my life. I'm still working full time however two years ago I finally decided that I wanted to work online, I just love this industry and all the possibilities…You can start almost everything you have in mind, and do it with a small budget (but of course a lot of time). Compared to an offline business you don't have costs such as rent or electricity. As a matter of fact you don't have to be located in the same location, you can work from wherever you like. My wife is from New Zealand and I'm from France, so for us it's very important to be able to live in both continents.

Why internet is good for us?
The internet also offers a lot of things for free or very cheap, for example web marketing and  talking to people is free (via social media), buying a domain name is cheap, using webtools such as skype or google app to run your small business is also cheap. The world is beautifull :)
I also consider the web to be a bit like the “golden age” or the 70s of the modern day. Almost everybody has their chance to start something, with the internet offering vast possibilities for sharing just about anything with the world.
We are still at the beginning of the internets capabilities, think about it, ten years ago the internet was totally different. I believe that in another ten years time (2020) it will harder to start an online business, not necessarily to find an idea but because greater controls will be in place to dictate what happens on the internet. I just hope I'm wrong :) When you think about it, today it's really super easy to open a website, anybody can do it and nothing or nobody is standing in your way (apart yourself).
Unfortunately I don’t have a magic formula for starting up a blog or business without putting in any hard work. However I do know a lot of web tools that allow you to make your working life easier, helping you to start something cooherent.
What action did I take to change my life?
I spent the first year training myself on how to make websites and how to use social media. I read many books about entrepreneurs, social media, and new way of working. I also regularly follow blogs and search for new young entrepreneur stories. This is why I now feel ready and confident to open this blog and finaly share my knowledge with the world.
I don't pretending to know everything, as mentioned above, I am still learning and still working full time.

Quick explanation of my experiences and current projects:

I ran a real estate agency for one and a half years when I was 22 years old. I know this is nothing special but at the time I was already was my boss, and above all I was really passionate about the industry, but to be honest I was far too young. My job was to find and sell houses, but quickly I realized that I would grow very bored if I kept going with this business. I remember that in 2001 I didn’t speak English, I knew nothing about the web industry and I knew nothing about how to use a computer. I was still using a paper agenda, my way of working was completely different, but it gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about selling houses and running an offline business.

The second small business I opened was at the end of 2008. For a few years I had been making videos for friends and family, and my talent spread by word of mouth. As a result two small businesses approached me and asked if I could do their website videos! For me this was a great opportunity to start www.makemyfilms.com. I considered myself to be a craftsman, so I was doing everything myself, the website, filming, editing, negotiating and also the accountants. To be honest this is the reason why I failed (but I will tell about this later on in the article).

I am now working on a few different projects, the main one at the moment is webkumo.com and Learnwithfrench.
LearnwithFrench was created for my wife Jennifer who wanted to start learning French. At learnwithfrench.com people can learn French online through more unconventional methods (daily French lesson on twitter, by email etc). These lessons are only for beginners. This website is for me an opportunity to prove that social media works in many ways, I will try to explain you what things / steps I am doing / following to improve my SEO.

The second site I made is www.my1stimpressions.com. My 1st impressions is an online travel diary currently run by Emanuela, an amazing Italian woman full of energy and dreams. When I met her we were talking about life and people. I asked her if she has a passion, she answered that the last ten years she had been documenting her journeys, taking photos and writing about her first impressions when arriving in a new place. Wow! In my mind I knew that a blog could be a great opportunity for her to share these experiences and potentially start a new life style. She was very interested when I suggested creating a blog, a friend of hers had already suggested the idea of publishing a book. Quickly we started up her website. Currently this blog is only three months old but it has already changed her life in a way. It didn't take her long to understand how things works she is already writing for other blogs, and almost every week different travel blogs are talking about her. I love discovering talented people who know nothing about the web industry. I feel like its my mission to introduce them to all the wonderful possibilities, and help them to set up their own blog / website. These people are everywhere, they usually work in a job that they don’t care about, it's such a shame to met someone with talent and see them not fully using it.

 

I would like to insist that all these websites started with a small amount of money. Learnwithfrench costs us 29 euros per year for the domain name, and its the same for my1stimpressions.
With who I work?
Since last December I have been working with my brother Emmanuel and his wife Anne, who have been running there own company for the last ten years (www.garelec.fr). He has become part of my online adventure. We have different background experience to share with each other, this is allow us to perform better.
I believe that two or more minds are better than one. The more brains involved in the project, the stronger the project becomes. Working alone can be dangerous, it's easy to lose your direction or sometimes make bad choices. In the future I will write an article about the benefits of not creating a venture alone.

Last week Emmanuel opened lostmytemper.com. We believe that its better to evacuate your bad mood somewhere constructive rather than off loading it on your friends or partner! At lostmytemper you can vent your bad mood online, get it off your chest, and start to feel better :) We want to offer a space where people can debate around subjects
It's really just a blog we've created for a bit of fun.

All these websites started less than 3 months ago. I'd like to make it possible for you to follow the progression / evolution of all these adventures here on this blog :) Why wait for these blogs to 'succeed' before advertising them, for me 'success' isn't all about making money but rather starting to take action!
I like to say ideas are great, but actually doing it is very different. I can only encourage you to start taking action!Time is no excuse!!
